The Talking Railway Series Emily Engine has built-in engine recognition technology, which activates personalized greetings from Sir Topham Hatt at Talking Railway Series destinations. Emily is a beautiful and graceful Single Sterling Engine with a brass dome.

When she first came to the Island, she accidentally offended Thomas when she pulled Annie and Clarabel by mistake. However, she was quick to apologize and showed her bravery by helping Oliver and Toad when they were headed for a nasty accident at a crossing. She received her own beautiful new coaches from Sir Topham Hatt, and hasn't pulled Annie and Clarabel since.
